Setup Checklist

  • Install Orange Keyboard from the App Store and open it once.
  • To allow full access and keyboard permissions: Open Settings ▸ Apps ▸ Orange Keyboard ▸ Keyboard.
  • Switch on Allow Full Access so AI and clipboard tools work.
  • Enable paste permission: Go to Settings ▸ Apps ▸ Orange Keyboard ▸ Keyboard and enable clipboard access. Note: This option may not appear until you copy text in another app and open the keyboard—this is normal behavior.

Type Faster

  • Tap the globe key to jump between Orange Keyboard and other layouts.
  • Press and hold space to turn the keyboard into a trackpad for precise cursor moves.
  • Tap suggestions above the keys to accept them instantly; long-press shift for caps lock.
Tip: Punctuation and casing adjust automatically to match your sentence.

Clipboard Mini

  • Tap the clipboard button to open your saved clips.
  • Pin important snippets so they stay at the top—long-press any clip to pin it.
  • Swipe left to remove any clip you no longer need.
  • Browse your clips history and search for specific items.

AI Shortcuts

  • Select text then choose Rewrite, Ask, Translate, or Summarize.
  • Edit each prompt inside the app to match your style or tone.
  • Nothing is inserted until you tap Insert, so you stay in control.

Make It Yours

  • Switch among curated themes or craft your own palette.
  • Fine-tune key size, borders, and haptics from the Settings tab.
  • Customize Quick Actions to keep favorite prompts a tap away.

Fix Common Issues

Keys are lagging or slow

  • Try toggling Orange Keyboard off and on in Settings ▸ Apps ▸ Orange Keyboard ▸ Keyboard or iOS Settings ▸ General ▸ Keyboard.
  • Restart your device if the issue persists.

AI features not working

  • Make sure Full Access is enabled: Go to Settings ▸ Apps ▸ Orange Keyboard ▸ Keyboard and enable Allow Full Access.
  • Check your API key and model settings in the Orange Keyboard app → Settings tab → AI → Advanced.
  • Use the Orange Keyboard app → Settings tab → AI → Advanced → Reset Advanced Settings to restore defaults.

Clipboard not updating

  • Go to Settings ▸ Apps ▸ Orange Keyboard ▸ Keyboard and confirm paste permissions are enabled.
  • Toggle clipboard access off and on to refresh permissions.

Can't paste from other apps or paste option missing

  • Enable clipboard access in Settings ▸ Apps ▸ Orange Keyboard ▸ Keyboard.
  • Make sure Full Access is enabled for the keyboard.
  • Don't see the paste option? This is normal—iOS hides it until you trigger it. Copy some text in another app (like Notes or Messages), then open the Orange Keyboard. This will prompt iOS to display the clipboard permission option in the settings.
  • After the option appears, go back to the Orange Keyboard app settings and enable it.

Prompts not saving

  • Reset AI prompts via Settings ▸ AI Prompts ▸ Reset.
  • Re-enter your custom prompts—they'll be saved automatically.
